I've made a number of different websites in the last few years, using a variety of programmes.

The first one I made, was in 1998 - for the V Festival. In those days, there were very few festival websites on the web, and mine took off very quickly. Having gained such a cult following, I continuted the website for another three years. In that time, I was credited by the organisers for getting the stereophonics on the line-up. After this campaign, more followed, including a very widely reported campaign which involved getting Hepburn OFF the line-up. You can read more about that, opposite.

Since then, i've made sites for other people, including an accountancy one, www.alp.easy.to, and an entertainment one, www.9to5fun.co.uk - for which I conducted all the interviews.

Apart from this site, I only run one other site at the moment - Scissor-sisters.co.uk. I started this after I saw the band perform in their early days, and they had no official website. My site still has

a large number of dedicated readers, and has somehow managed to receive 25,000 visitors to date.

Plot to scupper Hepburn festival shows

(Saturday April 01, 2000 04:00 PM)

An unofficial summer festival website has announced a campaign to have all-girl band Hepburn banned from playing at any of this year's summer events. And they're even claiming support from Radio One.

The website, set up to help publicise the V2000 event in Chelmsford and Stafford has taken it upon itself to call for agents and festival organisers to refuse to sign up one of dotmusic's favourite pop bands.

When the girls dropped by dotmusic towers recently to take part in a live webchat with fans they were nervous but excited about their first real 'live' show on Chris Evans' 'TFI Friday' show. And we can see no reason why they should singled out for such rough treatment.

The website in question told dotmusic that a Radio One entertainment reporter agreed whole-heartedly with their campaign, but dotmusic has countered by demanding the girls should be given their chance to play. What do you think? Email us by clicking here and tell us whether Hepburn should play or not.

'Hepburn Must Play'

(Monday April 03, 2000 10:51 PM)

dotmusic users have rallied around all-girl pop kittens, Hepburn, after another website luanched a campaign to ban them from the summer's festivals.

Within hours of us posting the story at the weekend, music fans were angrily emailing us with their views on this blatant attempt at censorship. Here is a selection.

"Who are these sad individuals who believe they should be able to dictate what the rest of us can or cannot see and listen to. I am not the biggest fan of Hepburn - but I really liked their last single, and I saw them on TFI - they were really good - no one could deny that. Of course they should play - if they want to." - cheers, Colin

"A million other bands worse than Hepburn will get to play and festivals, so why should they be singled out? Let them play if they want to..." - Graham Cooper

"I'm not a fan of Hepburn but i do think they are ok. I agree with dotmusic. They should be given a chance to play." - Belinda
